Beaches
Visit Crash Boat Beach, a famous beach with calm waters, a long dock, and water sports rentals. You can also hike to Survival Beach, a secluded beach with rock formations and waves. See our list of beaches for more details.
Paddleboarding: Paddleboarding along Aguadilla’s calmer beaches, like Peña Blanca or Rompeolas Beach, is popular and suitable for all levels.
Surfing: While winter brings the biggest waves, summer offers smaller, consistent swells ideal for beginner and intermediate surfers.
Snorkeling and Scuba Diving: With warm waters and good visibility, summer is a great time to explore Aguadilla's marine life. Beaches like Crash Boat have nearby reefs where you can spot colorful fish, sea turtles, and coral formations.
Explore the downtown area for restaurants, shopping, and views. You can also check out the iconic casas de colores, a unique makeover of damaged homes and buildings.
Punta Borinquen Lighthouse

Natural tidal pools
Visit Playa Sardinera, Playa Montones, Pozo de Teodoro, Posita Sardinera, or Poza las Golondrinas.
El Parterre
Visit this relaxing area to learn about the history of Barrio Pueblo, and check out the beaches and surfing spots.
Hiking in Punta Borinquen: For stunning ocean views and a bit of history, the Punta Borinquen trail is great for hiking or biking, especially in early mornings or late afternoons to avoid peak sun. The trail leads you to the Punta Borinquen Lighthouse and scenic viewpoints along the cliffside.
Explore Caves and Cliffs: Aguadilla has hidden gems like Survival Beach, where the trail takes you through beautiful rock formations and caves along the shore. The hike to Survival Beach is a bit rugged, but the views of dramatic cliffs and ocean vistas are well worth it.
Punta Borinquen Area
Punta Borinquen Lighthouse: Built-in 1889, this historic lighthouse offers scenic views of the coastline and is a lovely spot for a walk.
Borinquen Beach and Ruins: Close to the lighthouse, this area has dramatic cliffside views, hidden coves, and some fascinating ruins for a bit of history.
Local Culture and Dining
Local Cuisine: Aguadilla is known for its excellent seafood, especially dishes like mofongo con camarones (plantain-based dish with shrimp) and empanadillas (turnovers). The relaxing coastal spots are perfect for trying local food.
Plaza de Recreo: The main town square hosts local events, live music, and community gatherings. It’s an excellent place to experience the town's vibe and culture.
Activities and Attractions
Las Cascadas Water Park: The largest water park in the Caribbean, it is a family-friendly destination with slides, pools, and a lazy river, ideal for traveling with kids.
Fishing and Whale Watching: Fishing is popular year-round in the beautiful coastal waters. Whale-watching tours are popular during winter (roughly January to March), offering views of humpback whales as they migrate through the area.
Transportation and Accessibility
Rafael Hernández Airport (BQN) is located in Aguadilla and serves as a regional airport with flights from the mainland U.S. Accessing the airport is relatively convenient compared to other regions.
Renting a car is highly recommended for getting around Aguadilla and nearby towns. Public transportation options are limited, but taxis and local rideshare services are available.
